Reno’s Ken Sutherland releases his debut novel, “BALANCE: The 200-Year Journey of Andrew Crawford”

Dragon Crown Books is pleased to announce the publication of Reno author Ken Sutherland’s debut novel, "BALANCE: The 200-Year Journey of Andrew Crawford."

Ken's book is a fascinating account of one man's journey of self-discovery through three of his own past lives across two centuries. Thoroughly researched for historical accuracy, it includes stops in World War II-era New Jersey, on the Oregon Trail in the 19th century, and in France just before the French Revolution.

With elements of science fiction and the metaphysical, "BALANCE" it's a fast-paced, thought-provoking adventure with plenty of action. It's a worthy follow-up to Sutherland's inspired debut short story, "SWOOP," published by Dragon Crown this fall in "The ACES Anthology."

Who knew a bump on the head could open up so many new worlds and fresh insights into one man’s past—and present. Sutherland is a Reno resident and retired radio executive.

From the book jacket:

“First, Heather and I learn we’re about to have a baby. That’s great news. Then I get whacked on the head by a berserk teenage girl.

“My batty old Aunt Bonnie, who claims to be psychic--and probably is-- drags me into a backyard séance where she predicts I will save a life, take a life and lose a life on a journey through time.”

And The 200-Year Journey of Andrew Crawford begins. He thinks he is dreaming about time travel, living as a soldier in 1943 and an Irish immigrant in 1856. But when he lands in 1790, on the wrong side of the French Revolution, Andrew realizes this is no dream.

He is not time traveling. He is reliving his own past lives.

And Aunt Bonnie’s prophecy is coming true.
